I was looking for information on Women helping Women because this is one of my daughters things and I know she would be interested in helping.
Can you send me the site or information. Thank you Sheila
I am interested in supporting the KIVA Program. There is no information regarding this topic on your website. Can you direct me to a website for more information? Thanks
For those who wish to learn more about KIVA, here is the website: http://www.kiva.org. I belong to a small book club here in Wyoming (6 members). We will be contributing. East Africa is dear to my heart as I spent 2 years in Ethiopia as a Peace Corps Volunteer (’66 to ‘68). We can make a difference!
This last 2 weeks in August with Matt, Ann, Al and Natalie has been wonderful to watch. It had the class and quality that The Today Show has always had, when the change occured the class, quality and vocabulary in the show went down. We so enjoy all of you at NBC please do something with the new person, she does need some polish and a better way to express her self
I have watched the Today Show since the Bryant Gumbo days. I remember when KATIE came on the show and everyone talked about her terrible clothes and perky ways. She finally got her wardrobe together and I think that she was always a good reporter. I hated to see her go. Now Merideth is a totally different story. I turned on the today show this morning…..she is back from vacation. She has the same frumpy hair-do, the same terrible clothes and she is not a news person. When I saw that out-fit this morning I thought…is she going to a wake or a cock-tail party??? After a year on the Today Show can’t someone help her with her clothes? PLEASE! She is really more of a game host/women’s talk show person. On the positive side…Anne is doing great. She is really stepping up to the plate. I think that Natalie is terrific!
Kudos Today Show for running the segment re: Teenage girls and physical abuse by their boyfriends. As a Prosecuting Attorney I am concerned with the ever-increasing incidents of domestic abuse and am interested in starting a program to initiate the prevention of this crime that is affecting 1 out of every 11 teen-aged girls today. In the 9/4/07 segment featuring an interview with an abused California teenager, she referred to a program, that I “think”, was Liz Clairborn sponsored????? Could you help in providing me with educational links that I could incorporate into an abuse-prevention program here in our local comunity? THANK YOU for your continuing efforts to educate our public.
Sincerely,
A.M. Ulbricht
I work at Cowhorn Creek Estates and we are a senior independent
living facility and part of the Holiday Chain. We have a resident who
will be 105 years old on the 21 of Sept. and we are having a huge
celebration in her honor. Her name is Little Annie Conner and she
celebrated her 101 birthday by walking down the winding staircase
and being interviewed on tv. She celebrated her 102 by flying in
a helicopter over Texarkana. She said she had always wanted to
see it from the air. She celebrated her 103 birthday by riding on
the back of a Harley. She celebrated her 104 by going up in a
hot air baloon. She is going to celebrate her 105 by riding in
a Nascar. The mayors from both sides of the city will be here as
will 6 chefs from the holiday chain and they are going to have
an International Food Bazaar. We are inviting 6000 people to
come celebrate with Ms Annie. She still lives alone and is very
bright. Her hearing and eyesight have gotten weaker but she
is sharp as a tack. Just thought you might mention her on the
Today Shhow. My name is Sharon Arnett and I am the
enrichment co ordinator for Cowhorn Creek Estates.
Thank you,

I’m very sorry the TODAY show was intimidated by Lin Wood and cancelled the Rita Cosby interview. As a Southern Californian who is connected with the same sexually turbulent, ever-shifting scene as Anna, Howard and Larry, it was great to see that the reality of the situation might emerge in spite of the self-serving alliances and sweeter-than-pie public faces. I encourage you to watch every moment of the last full hour interview Larry King did with Larry Birkhead. If there’s a scintilla of journalistic hunch left in your success saturated bones, you’ll be floored. Ask yourselves: Would you be chums with someone who maintained for months that he was the father of a baby you absolutely knew to be yours, causing you emotional anguish of Hitchcockian proportions? Not even the tip of the iceberg of this tawdry tale has surfaced, and you skip smilingly on your way. Oblivion is so safe.
I am also looking for information on the KIVA Loans for womens and am unable to locate it on your website. What a wonderful piece. Please respond. Susan BP
Please get rid of the “scrolling” and the large blue band at the bottom of the picture.
Many times interesting pictures are at the bottom and can’t be seen.
My niece and I were watching this morning we wanted to vote on the #4 wedding gownd. I am just learning the computer. And could not fine the place to click on and vote. I watch your show everyday. I am so glad Ellen is back to morning. Thank You All Everyday. Linda Hockin 430 Maple Dr. Belford N.J 07718.
I’d like to vote for wedding gown no. 3 as shown on your show today and I can’t find it on this web site. Thanks for submitting my vote. Carolyn Wright
Whatever happened to Tiki Barber? Have not seen him for a long time. Today I noticed that you introduced a new person for your 2nd half of the show. Is she replacing Tiki? If so, when and why did he leave the show.
Matt,
It’s shocking how you could have missed a key comeback to former President Clinton this morning as you quizzed him about his wife’s comment on a plan to withdraw troops. As he was “pumping” up her candidacy talking about “how stretched our armed forces are … and the Navy now training in infantry tactics” you failed to mention that under his leadership the armed forces was more than reduced in half! A force that he inherited at over 800,000 strong had been decimated by the time his second term ended to slightly over 400,000.
So, are you just uninformed, incompetent, or just “throwing a block” for the democratic candidate that you and NBC think might actually win the next general election? Give us a break, please. I thought you guys were supposed to be balanced??
I’m particularly aggravated by oversights like this, because I am a former army airborne, ranger infantry officer and two of my best friends are generals, serving on active duty in combat — one, MG Bernie Champoux in Afghanistan and the other, BG John Campbell, who is the Assistant Division Commander for the 1st Cav in Iraq. They and the troops that they command deserve better and more discerning media coverage than you provided this morning.
Letting the man who was at the helm when our armed forces suffered the greatest reduction in the last 25 years and who also bears some significant level of responsibility for what’s now going on in Iraq and Afghanistan was irresponsible, blatantly political and quite disappointing. What else is new from the media? It’s digraceful! I thought you were better than that!
I am Happy to see that someone has brought up ovarian cancer but didn’t like how the doctor you had on answerd questions. Her answer was always it’s indecative, the costs. etc….
someone that has lost a loved one to this deadly disease such as I feel that not enough is being done. My mother passed away 2 years ago July from this disease, she was diagnosed 20 months prior to that.
I went to every doctor appointment with her and I don’t think the doctors even new what they were looking for. I myself did lots of research online and was able to keep abreast to what was happening to my mom. And when I brought up something about the disease or what was going on with my mother the doctors would answer just about how your doctor on the show would.
This is not right, there is more that can be done. More need to care, This is a terrible disease and not what you want to see a loved one go through.
I send donations to American Cancer Society/Ovarian cancer Research.
I would love to do more for my mother and others.
Thankyou
Sincerely,
Loving son

I have disliked your Blue setting since the remodel. Today I couldn’t
believe you used it for Mr. Clinton. It looks like a bathroom!!!
Has anyone mentioned this before?

I wish you would show the wedding party stuff before 9am in the morning. I have to leave for work and 8:45. You started stating at 8:30 that it was coming up next and when I left at 8:55 you still had not showed anything. I always enjoy this. Ya’ll do such a fantastic job with this.
Can you please tell me what product was being promoted in the commercial that all of the hosts were talking about that showed the hysterical interaction between a boss and inept employees?
I tried to find out what wedding ring was chosen on Sept.5th. show and couldn’t find the website. I had to leave brfore it was on. Please let me know. I love today throws a wedding segment and have watched everyone you have had on. Thanks for making this my favorite morning news show. You start off my day with a bang.
I would love to know the logic for playing that irritating! MUSIC-SOUND–while people are talking. Cannot hear what is being said. you are not the only station that does this. Is it trying to get us all moving to a staccato beat???
Using my mute button more & more!
As I have read other comments above about the wedding dress, I am also wondering where to vote. I did exactly as Matt Laur said to do, and it did not work. I was hoping to vote for No. 3. Also I saw the interview about the mother in Ohio, and I keep asking myself the same question- “When you go out and take the child and put them in their car seat, how can you forget that they are there.” I have recently retired from 14 years in the prison systems, as a nurse, and met an offender who was in prison for leaving his child in the car, and the child died. I asked him how could you forget that you put the child in the car, and you have not left the child anywhere. He did not have an answer, and I am still waiting to find out how these people can forget. Please explain more explicit about the voting.Thanks. Charon Kading Fort Worth, Texas.
9/7/07- Didn’t the young lady on the SouthWest flight get it? She was inappropriately dressed. The skirt was very short and showed her underware when she sat down. I applaud SouthWest, an airline with CLASS!
How many children have to die before the law will be changed in Ohio. To me as a mother of 5, there is absolutely no excuse to forget that you put a child in the backseat of your car, does being absent minded excuse murder? my heart aches for the suffering the little girl had to go endure.
I just watched your segment on the college girl that Southwest Airlines asked to wear appropriate clothes to fly on their planes. After Matt had her stand up and show us the outfit, she sat back down on the couch and we clearly as viewers could see right up her skirt. It left nothing to the imagination. I say, “Thank You!” to Southwest Airlines who took a stand as a family values airline.
I feel if you can convict a man for dog fighting you should convict some one for killing babies. This is the second child she has killed. These children could not defend themselves, it was up to the mother to protect them, instead the mother is the one who took their lives. Could someone please tell me what’s wrong with our judicial system? I am outraged and appalled at what has happened and she should be punished. We have to speak for the children all children. Unless the laws change for crimes such as these, we are telling parents this is exceptable behavior. Lock her up and not allow her to reproduce ever again.
As for the mother who left who child in the car. I cannot imagine being that busy to forget my child. I do not buy it. She should be charged. I have been on unbeivable overload at times and I would never ever forget that my child is in the car. Could she not see the child??? And then opening the back of the van too. And then she goes to park it. She never saw her child. Oh please!!!!!!! If she gets away with this other people will see that this is a good way to murder their children. As far as the young lady that got on southwest airlines. I see nothing wrong with her outfit. I have seen much worse. She should pursue this one way or the other. Some kind of action should be taken against the employee who did this. What was he thinking? Margo from North Carolina
Even if it is being called an accident, this mother was called on leaving her other child in the car on another occasion. I work in childcare ,and if a daycare person had done this it would at least go on her permanent record somewhere. If it had been me I wouldn’t have been allowed to work in any childcare setting. Being too busy,or too preoccupied is no excuse. she wasn’t too busy to think about donuts for her friends… was her daughter less important?
I at least think this is an incident that should be on her permanent record as negligence. This was not the first time she had done this. If the childrens father is out there somewhere, he should think about custody changes.
Let me paint the picture. 2 years old locked in a car seat, can’t get out, can’t open the window or doors, can’t call for help, hot, no water , no air, can’t breath SCARED, No mom, no dad, just being left alone to suffer an unthinkable death. This is just enough to make a person sick and to see the video of her mother, what about the baby? What was she going through when the teachers and staff were enjoying donuts at her expense. She paid the ultimate price for a box of donuts. She didn’t foreget the donuts. May God shine his light upon his little angel, because she’s safe at home with him now.

young lady asked to leave airplane because of attire:
Check your tape on young girl sitting down. I think you can see her underpants when she sits down. Her skirt is entirely too short and her mother supporting this type dress conveys to her that whatever she is wearing is alright. You probably saved Southwest Airlines a lawsuit. Good job.
I found the young lady’s outfit nice and not showing to much. She was a victim of someone else’s dress code. We are not allowed to tell someone what is not right for them. Let us start speaking for the ones who need’s it. There are more important things in the world to be concerned with other than what someone is wearing. Like the little baby that died by the hand of a mother to busy getting donuts for her friends and just foregot about her.
Hats off to Southwest, the skirt was too short!! and the mother’s excuse that her daughter looked like every other college girl, was ridiculous. What other behaviors does she justify for her because every other college girl is doing it?
how in the world is this even possiable iam a mother of four and lead a verry bussy life with tons of stress every day but my children never leave my mind. my prayer’s go out to the family.
I applaud Southwest Airlines for addressing the outfit your guest was wearing. I would not want my children seeing her or sitting next to her. As she was sitting down (after showing off her outfit on your show) you could see her underwear. Her skirt was clearly too short. It was a mistake on her part not to bring any luggage or a change of clothes. Airlines cancel flights or have mechanical problems daily. What would she have done then.
Anyone who locks up a child in a car should be punished. I don’t care what you were doing, you know if you put someone in a car you should take them out. She has no excuse for this and should be punished. When she opened the back of her car to get the donuts out, she saw that lillte baby sleeping. There’s no way you can be to busy to know you left a baby in a car. Keep buying donuts and foreget something else.We should lock you up in a ssssssssteight jacket, handcuff your feet and put you in a hot room with the tempature of 110 and see how you like it. Oh we foregot, because we were getting the donuts for the staff. Live with what you have done and if you are allowed to have more children you will do it again. You are becoing a serial killer. Other than the man caught on video beating a 97 year old man you are on that not liked most list with him.
I saw that girls panties when Matt told her she could sit back down. I didn’t have my glasses on but they were white or a close to it. So who is to say that she had panties on the day she was questioned…… :0
I would like to vote on wedding dress number 2. Also, I didn’t see all of the segment on the dress, but from what I seen of it, there was nothing wrong with it. The person was right, if she had been Paris Hilton or any other young star, the airline would have bent over backwards to please her regardless of what she was wearing.
I’m sorry but that skirt was way to short. Now she got even more exposure on national T.V. by showing her panties to the world. Not the view I wanted to see.
Matt, was this segment time delayed for your censors? The view of her crotch area was distorted. I’m guessing that those on the plane did not have this option. When she stood up she pulled to make the “skirt” stay down. If not we may have had ” THE TODAY Show”.Your focus seemed to be on her top. Come on ,we see much more at the mall by all ages. You could have had her turn around or bend over & maybe understand what was or was not shown. Please rethink this type of NEWS !!!
sorry, but the skirt was too short. my classey beautiful daughter turns heads wherever she goes and does not need to resort to overexposure to accomplish this. tell the young lady she’s OK as long as she keeps on standing; sitting seemed to be her problem!
I to feel that her skirt was to short when she sat down you could see her panties and her skirt was up to the top of her thighs. I think it could have been handle much better maybe hand her a cover up. I think she is making a big stink over something she her self could have prevented. I think she is trying to get her self a step towards the public image I wish the today show would keep the show on more important issues they are the news and they should not give there opinion on the air one should not have to pull ones skirt down when they stand up
I think that women who KILLED her baby should be charged, there is no excuse for what she did, I don’t fell sorry for her at all. Your never to busy to forget about your own child. There is not one excuse for what she did.
By the simple fact that the network had to blur the image of the girl’s crouch as she sat down should be verification enough for her, the mother and the lawyer that the outfit was inappropriate. And to compare her to Paris Hilton is incriminating in itself. I, as a mother, would NEVER want my child exposed on national t.v. like she was. And certainly would NEVER want my child compared to Paris Hilton.
Maybe once they watch the tape to see how “good” they looked on the show, they will rethink their priorities and values.
I can’t believe that the mother who left her child in the car has not been charged with any crime! I can’t even imagine the pain the woman must be going through but to leave her in the mental state she is in and basically tell her it isn’t a crime is so unfair to her and to the dead child. I understand in this busy world things happen but your CHILD? How can you possibly forget your sleeping child is in the car. Being BUSY should NEVER be an excuse for neglecting your children!
Yes that mom should be charged with a crime!!!!!!!! Over 350 chudlren died because they were left in a hot car! That is ashame on those who did this. This mom not only is the mom but her job entails children; so either way she should have been thinking about her child! It must be taken more seriously; this is a yearly summer reminder about not leaving children in hot crimes. That doesn’t seem to be effective.
Up the consequences to PREVENT this CRIME. It it the media and all parents and society’s responsiblility to be involved in this!
How sad, a life lost! A child’s who depends on the adults in her world to protect her!
#1 The idiot who left her young daughter in the car to cook should be prosecuted. This is insane. And she works at a school. God help all those children.
#2 For the girl with the short skirt grow up and take responsibility for your inapropriate apperal. Because others do it does not make it correct. Her mother must be looking for a freeby from the Airline to condone this . This young women is pretty she does not need to resort looking like a hooker.
I want to start off by saying I love Meridith, why is everyone so critical about clothing. I am glad Katie is gone. She choose to leave and I hope she is sorry she did. Meridith is just doing the job she was hired to do, so quit judging someone by the way they dress. Do you want news or are you wanting to see a fashion show?
No wonder why are society is the way it is. Judging someone’s merits by the way they dress is ludicrist. Get a life people they are there to give us the news. If you want to judge someone, look in the mirror and see what you see, are you perfect?
My name is Diane Patrick. I am compelled by heartache for the extreme pain and suffering that , that baby had endored to voice my thoughts and tears. As a mother and grandmother there isn”t for one minute where my maturnal instints aren”t in overdrive. To be so busy in life as to forget my child would be the ultamate igourance to the meaning mother, parent , caregiver. I would rather be too busy with the thoughts for my children than be distracted by the needs of others. She asked “How can i forgive myself”? I couldn”t if it were me.I couldn’t ever think of asking myself that.I am a parent first before anything. My heart pains for all the forgotten children.
As far as the mother that left her child in the car, I believe it is her fault. Who forgets about their child? She needs to pay for what she did. She can cry and blame herself, however it doesn’t bring back that poor child. She works in a school with children, you would think her own child would come before she bought donuts for her coworkers. Where is her priority?
I would just like to make a suggestion for the “new hour” of Today. I like all the women to be involved. BUT, could they make a sincere effort to NOT talk all at the same time? It sounds so silly.
Also, Natalie has a bad habit of trying to talk over the guest. It is very annoying.
Just LISTEN until the person talking is finished before a comment is made!
I applaud the judge/prosecutor in the case of the woman who left her baby in the car. Somewhere along the line our society has decided that someone should “pay” for anything and everything, including devastating accidents. This woman will pay for the rest of her life as it is. I believe that her negligence is undeniably horrific but I don’t believe she is a threat to society, and I agree that her negligence was not a Crime.
Please let her know someone out here feels her pain and isn’t here to crucify her for this unbelievable mistake.
Yes,, I think the mother who left her child in the car,[rather it was hot or not,]should be charged.I can not imagine “forgetting” your child was there, let alone for as long as she did. I’m a mother of two, and a granmother of two, and not once have I ever”forgotten” them. In fact I never have left them alone in a car!!
Well, I’ve kept looking and I am happy to see I am not the only one who couldn’t find a link for voting on the wedding gown. My vote is for #1. I believe that would look the best on this particular young woman.
Also, I, too, miss Katie. I’ve been watching Today since 1985, and truly love Matt, Katie, Al & Ann. Merideth is trying….too hard, I think. My husband has been saying from day 1, that she looks over his head when she speaks. I wonder why her eyes never look straight ahead. I believe she’s attractive enough, and her clothes are o.k. But, I had hoped either Ann or Natalie would be Katie’s replacement. Natalie, particularly, since she would add the youth factor the show needs in order to hold an audience in the coming years. Ann’s warmth and compassion shows in all she does. Merideth does o.k. in most of her interviews, although I feel she’s trying to be something she’s not…..cute and bouncy. I think she’d be better by being herself.
As far as that Ohio mother is concerned. I can’t imagine living with what she’s done. She will carry her punishment with her for the rest of her life. We don’t need to put her on trial……she already has been.
The young woman with the short outfit…..come on….I see more cleavage and underwear every time I go to the mall. Much ado about nothing.
To leave that child unattended, defenseless, alone and strapped in a seat where she litterally baked and not be prosecuted is wrong. In Ohio, the mother is favored above the father - it seems they can do no wrong, even when the courts know her record of abuse. If she is not prosecuted then why not open the prison gates and let those out who have not committed murder and give them a clean record? To forget you have a child with you? Come on! ! If killing your child, on purpose or not, is not a crime then what is.
PLEASE PEOPLE………..I know it seems like this could not happen to you, but be careful what you say and think, and never say never. My hope is nothing like this ever happens to you or anyone for that matter, ever again. I think it is horrible that this individual could leave her child in the car, but with our busy schedules, when we vary our routines adverse things can happen. It was also reported that there have been quite a number of similiar situations with other parents. She will punish herself enough, we don’t need to help.
On the other hand………the girl with the short skirt, excuse me………..Do I want to sit on her bodily fluids after she leave the airplane. Maybe she should be concerned about the same (exposing her flesh). How often do they clean those seats? In addition, I agree with Southwest it is a family airline. Don’t they still have the right to refuse service to anyone? Maybe they should have offered her the blanket to begin with………
The poor girl who was tossed off the plane for being under dressed needs to invest in some clothes. The link below is from her My Space page. She is an attention hound and an opportunist. She had her skirt pulled down so far on the Today show, you could see her pelvic bones sticking out. Shame on her, her mother, Matt and the Today show for promoting such obvious grandstanding. People are only saying that she was dressed fine because she is pretty and slim, qualities that make the small minded look the other way. Perhaps it is the current rage to be skanky…it does not make it right.
I have been unable to get to vote for the upcoming wedding. This is the first year that I have note been able to vote. Is there a problem with your internet ? I had my internet service check and I’ve been told it must be at your end. I read that other areas have not been able to vote … very unhappy about not participating.
About the outfit the girl wore on the plane. Since I was not there my thoughts are she wanted attention. We did not see if she had pulled her skirt up higher than was shown on tv this morning. Was the shirt she was wearing showing any flesh other then the chest,? she could have rolled the shirt up to reveal the stomach.. If you have notice this summer more chest is showing to almost falling out. Did she have any under garments on that day. some many people these days do not have any respect for themselves, so they will wear anything to be notice……..
I would really like to take that lady and just choke her, how in the hell could you not see your sleeping child in the back seat as she is opening the back to get her doughnuts out .I dont understand how she could forget her child but she didnt forget about the doughnuts.I really think the lady should be charged.I didnt believe at all that she was grieving,in my eyes she was just putting on a good front cause she didnt want to be charged. There is no justice for that little girl who had to suffer.I would really like to know who the incompatent judge is.I think something should be done it is not to late, you never know you could save their other child from forgetfullness.
T he woman in the mercedes gets away with manslaughter while peeking up at camera while putting on a show. I have had more emotion over a lost pet. It is horrifying to think she is in charge of others school children. A poor woman with no available child care took her 3 childen to work out of desperation a few days ago in a widely publicized case and received a much more severe penalty. Put her in jail and get her away from her other child before she goes for more donuts and get her out of schools permantly. Poor busy rich folks who keep forgetting kids. They should experience what the real workers go through to get by.
In regards to mother leaving child in car.Im so pissed off about that I cant even emagine leaving my dog in a hot car.I dont see how she couldnt see the child getting back in car from getting those donuts. The people at the school she works at should write a petition to get rid of her,I would.I hope they get her good. There is no excuse.I pray for other child.
I feel the woman in Ohio should be paying time for her crime of murdering her child. She had to back up to park the vehicle while delivering the box of donuts to her fellow workers. When she looked in her rearview mirror what did she dee? If she turned to look to backup what did she see? I have a baby, when she is in my vehicle, everytime I look in my rearview mirror or turn to backup, I smile at her because I SEE HER! This lady saw her baby! I think she is trying to cover up (maybe) something happened that morning before she got in her car to go get donuts for school and this is how she covered up that accident. What else could have possessed this lady to leave a beautiful two year old girl in her car on a hot day to bake her to death? The prosecuter she is using is the same one who helped clear another woman charged in the death of a foster child who was autistic and she and two others tied the boy up in a closet for the weekend so they could go to a family reunion. Marcus Fiesel died and this prosecuter got one of those murders off too. She picked someone who she knew could help her lie!!!!!! He needs to be punished too. In the end, when they are judged by the only ONE who really counts, they will know the truthe.
I just wanted to comment on the girl that was on your show today.I think the airline was right on this one.Her skirt really looked short as she was sitting there, then Matt asked her to stand up.When she sat back down I saw her white panties plain as day!How do you know if she wasn’t bare bottom that day and not even wearing panties?Either way I can see why they said something to her about her outfit. And I can’t believe her mother sat there and approved that skirt.I have 2 daughters that are very beautiful girls,22 and 29,and they don’t have to show their butt to get a man to turn and look. Then what really got me,the second time you ran this interview, you took out the part where she sat down and showed her panties so I know that someone at the Today Show caught it too.Now the airlines can use that clip to keep someone from taking advantage of them with another bogus lawsuit wanting money.I applaud Southwest airlines!Good going guys! And to the girl that was on the show,You just humiliated yourself on National Television young lady! Kudos to you Southwest airlines!
About the skirt, during the third hour of Today you cut out the standing up and sitting down.(thank God). This should tell the woman and Southwest Airlines all they need to know. If you cant see it on the morning news then it shouldn’t be forced into our society. I wonder what kind of doctor she was going to see. Every college girl in the country does not dress like this I can assure you. The college girls eyeshadow was perfect on the show.
The assistant principle should definately be fired and CPS should take the remaining child out of her care. Ohio law has really set the standards of good parenting fall too low.
Anne, good for you telling america your daughter will not be dressing this way. You are a very classy woman.
I now see that I am among several who have tried, unsuccessfully, to find the wedding dress “voting” site. I thought it was perhaps my computer, but it would appear to be either a widespread problem or something amiss with the ballot box! Some response to those of us interested in participating would be helpful……and appreciated. Perhaps some modeled instructions will be forthcoming for the seemingly technically ….. frustrated? Or at least an explanation? Thanks!
I love watching the Today Show and Weekend today. But I recently realized that Campbell Brown has not been on lately. I know that she recently announced that she was pregnant and hope that everything is fine with her and her family.
thanks for putting on a great program on a daily basis!!!!
I’m the Mother of two and the Grandmother of five. My heart aches for the pain that the 2 year had to suffer before dying. Most all Mothers are born with a “maternal instinct”.” As a Mother, you know where your child is, and think of them many times through the day, when you are away and having a very busy work day. This Mother had been disciplined previously for leaving this child in the car while going into her other child’s school for a play or something.

OK.

Matt,
It’s shocking how you could have missed a key comeback to former President Clinton this morning as you quizzed him about his wife’s comment on a plan to withdraw troops.

Thankyou
Sincerely,
Loving son

I applaud SouthWest, an airline with CLASS!
on Sep 7th, 2007 at 12:09 pm
How many children have to die before the law will be changed in Ohio. To me as a mother of 5, there is absolutely no excuse to forget that you put a child in the backseat of your car, does being absent minded excuse murder? my heart aches for the suffering the little girl had to go endure.
on Sep 7th, 2007 at 12:12 pm
I just watched your segment on the college girl that Southwest Airlines asked to wear appropriate clothes to fly on their planes. After Matt had her stand up and show us the outfit, she sat back down on the couch and we clearly as viewers could see right up her skirt. It left nothing to the imagination. I say, “Thank You!” to Southwest Airlines who took a stand as a family values airline.
on Sep 7th, 2007 at 12:17 pm
I feel if you can convict a man for dog fighting you should convict some one for killing babies. This is the second child she has killed. These children could not defend themselves, it was up to the mother to protect them, instead the mother is the one who took their lives. Could someone please tell me what’s wrong with our judicial system? I am outraged and appalled at what has happened and she should be punished. We have to speak for the children all children. Unless the laws change for crimes such as these, we are telling parents this is exceptable behavior. Lock her up and not allow her to reproduce ever again.
on Sep 7th, 2007 at 12:18 pm
Margo from North Carolina
on Sep 7th, 2007 at 12:26 pm
Even if it is being called an accident, this mother was called on leaving her other child in the car on another occasion. I work in childcare ,and if a daycare person had done this it would at least go on her permanent record somewhere. If it had been me I wouldn’t have been allowed to work in any childcare setting. Being too busy,or too preoccupied is no excuse. she wasn’t too busy to think about donuts for her friends… was her daughter less important?
I at least think this is an incident that should be on her permanent record as negligence. This was not the first time she had done this. If the childrens father is out there somewhere, he should think about custody changes.
on Sep 7th, 2007 at 12:36 pm
Let me paint the picture. 2 years old locked in a car seat, can’t get out, can’t open the window or doors, can’t call for help, hot, no water , no air, can’t breath SCARED, No mom, no dad, just being left alone to suffer an unthinkable death. This is just enough to make a person sick and to see the video of her mother, what about the baby? What was she going through when the teachers and staff were enjoying donuts at her expense. She paid the ultimate price for a box of donuts. She didn’t foreget the donuts. May God shine his light upon his little angel, because she’s safe at home with him now.
on Sep 7th, 2007 at 12:37 pm
young lady asked to leave airplane because of attire:
Check your tape on young girl sitting down. I think you can see her underpants when she sits down. Her skirt is entirely too short and her mother supporting this type dress conveys to her that whatever she is wearing is alright. You probably saved Southwest Airlines a lawsuit. Good job.
on Sep 7th, 2007 at 12:49 pm
Although I feel like it is pouring salt in a wound,
what is different about this asst. principal? Many woman have been charged with involuntary manslaughter for the exact same thing.
Ones called for jail time and a man’s career over deaths of dogs! but now it’s “oh poor busy lady” over the death of a child?
on Sep 7th, 2007 at 12:50 pm
I found the young lady’s outfit nice and not showing to much. She was a victim of someone else’s dress code. We are not allowed to tell someone what is not right for them. Let us start speaking for the ones who need’s it. There are more important things in the world to be concerned with other than what someone is wearing. Like the little baby that died by the hand of a mother to busy getting donuts for her friends and just foregot about her.
on Sep 7th, 2007 at 12:52 pm
Hats off to Southwest, the skirt was too short!! and the mother’s excuse that her daughter looked like every other college girl, was ridiculous. What other behaviors does she justify for her because every other college girl is doing it?
on Sep 7th, 2007 at 12:53 pm
how in the world is this even possiable iam a mother of four and lead a verry bussy life with tons of stress every day but my children never leave my mind. my prayer’s go out to the family.
on Sep 7th, 2007 at 12:59 pm
I applaud Southwest Airlines for addressing the outfit your guest was wearing. I would not want my children seeing her or sitting next to her. As she was sitting down (after showing off her outfit on your show) you could see her underwear. Her skirt was clearly too short. It was a mistake on her part not to bring any luggage or a change of clothes. Airlines cancel flights or have mechanical problems daily. What would she have done then.
on Sep 7th, 2007 at 1:00 pm
Other than the man caught on video beating a 97 year old man you are on that not liked most list with him.
on Sep 7th, 2007 at 1:08 pm
I saw that girls panties when Matt told her she could sit back down. I didn’t have my glasses on but they were white or a close to it. So who is to say that she had panties on the day she was questioned…… :0
on Sep 7th, 2007 at 1:18 pm
I would like to vote on wedding dress number 2. Also, I didn’t see all of the segment on the dress, but from what I seen of it, there was nothing wrong with it. The person was right, if she had been Paris Hilton or any other young star, the airline would have bent over backwards to please her regardless of what she was wearing.
on Sep 7th, 2007 at 1:22 pm
I’m sorry but that skirt was way to short. Now she got even more exposure on national T.V. by showing her panties to the world. Not the view I wanted to see.
on Sep 7th, 2007 at 1:26 pm
Matt, was this segment time delayed for your censors? The view of her crotch area was distorted. I’m guessing that those on the plane did not have this option. When she stood up she pulled to make the “skirt” stay down. If not we may have had ” THE TODAY Show”.Your focus seemed to be on her top. Come on ,we see much more at the mall by all ages. You could have had her turn around or bend over & maybe understand what was or was not shown. Please rethink this type of NEWS !!!
on Sep 7th, 2007 at 1:37 pm
sorry, but the skirt was too short. my classey beautiful daughter turns heads wherever she goes and does not need to resort to overexposure to accomplish this. tell the young lady she’s OK as long as she keeps on standing; sitting seemed to be her problem!
on Sep 7th, 2007 at 1:44 pm
The skirt was WAAAYYY too short! She was OK standing, but she has white underwear on!
I also really enjoy Merideth as opposed to Katie!
on Sep 7th, 2007 at 1:44 pm
I to feel that her skirt was to short when she sat down you could see her panties and her skirt was up to the top of her thighs. I think it could have been handle much better maybe hand her a cover up. I think she is making a big stink over something she her self could have prevented. I think she is trying to get her self a step towards the public image I wish the today show would keep the show on more important issues they are the news and they should not give there opinion on the air one should not have to pull ones skirt down when they stand up
on Sep 7th, 2007 at 1:52 pm
I think that women who KILLED her baby should be charged, there is no excuse for what she did, I don’t fell sorry for her at all. Your never to busy to forget about your own child. There is not one excuse for what she did.
on Sep 7th, 2007 at 2:11 pm
By the simple fact that the network had to blur the image of the girl’s crouch as she sat down should be verification enough for her, the mother and the lawyer that the outfit was inappropriate. And to compare her to Paris Hilton is incriminating in itself. I, as a mother, would NEVER want my child exposed on national t.v. like she was. And certainly would NEVER want my child compared to Paris Hilton.
Maybe once they watch the tape to see how “good” they looked on the show, they will rethink their priorities and values.
on Sep 7th, 2007 at 2:47 pm
I can’t believe that the mother who left her child in the car has not been charged with any crime! I can’t even imagine the pain the woman must be going through but to leave her in the mental state she is in and basically tell her it isn’t a crime is so unfair to her and to the dead child. I understand in this busy world things happen but your CHILD? How can you possibly forget your sleeping child is in the car. Being BUSY should NEVER be an excuse for neglecting your children!
on Sep 7th, 2007 at 2:50 pm
Yes that mom should be charged with a crime!!!!!!!! Over 350 chudlren died because they were left in a hot car! That is ashame on those who did this. This mom not only is the mom but her job entails children; so either way she should have been thinking about her child! It must be taken more seriously; this is a yearly summer reminder about not leaving children in hot crimes. That doesn’t seem to be effective.
Up the consequences to PREVENT this CRIME. It it the media and all parents and society’s responsiblility to be involved in this!
How sad, a life lost! A child’s who depends on the adults in her world to protect her!
on Sep 7th, 2007 at 2:50 pm
#1 The idiot who left her young daughter in the car to cook should be prosecuted. This is insane. And she works at a school. God help all those children.
#2 For the girl with the short skirt grow up and take responsibility for your inapropriate apperal. Because others do it does not make it correct. Her mother must be looking for a freeby from the Airline to condone this . This young women is pretty she does not need to resort looking like a hooker.
on Sep 7th, 2007 at 2:55 pm
I want to start off by saying I love Meridith, why is everyone so critical about clothing. I am glad Katie is gone. She choose to leave and I hope she is sorry she did. Meridith is just doing the job she was hired to do, so quit judging someone by the way they dress. Do you want news or are you wanting to see a fashion show?
No wonder why are society is the way it is. Judging someone’s merits by the way they dress is ludicrist. Get a life people they are there to give us the news. If you want to judge someone, look in the mirror and see what you see, are you perfect?
on Sep 7th, 2007 at 2:56 pm
My heart pains for all the forgotten children.
on Sep 7th, 2007 at 2:59 pm
As far as the mother that left her child in the car, I believe it is her fault. Who forgets about their child? She needs to pay for what she did. She can cry and blame herself, however it doesn’t bring back that poor child. She works in a school with children, you would think her own child would come before she bought donuts for her coworkers. Where is her priority?
on Sep 7th, 2007 at 3:04 pm
I would just like to make a suggestion for the “new hour” of Today. I like all the women to be involved. BUT, could they make a sincere effort to NOT talk all at the same time? It sounds so silly.
Also, Natalie has a bad habit of trying to talk over the guest. It is very annoying.
Just LISTEN until the person talking is finished before a comment is made!
on Sep 7th, 2007 at 3:18 pm
I applaud the judge/prosecutor in the case of the woman who left her baby in the car. Somewhere along the line our society has decided that someone should “pay” for anything and everything, including devastating accidents. This woman will pay for the rest of her life as it is. I believe that her negligence is undeniably horrific but I don’t believe she is a threat to society, and I agree that her negligence was not a Crime.
Please let her know someone out here feels her pain and isn’t here to crucify her for this unbelievable mistake.
on Sep 7th, 2007 at 3:32 pm
Yes,, I think the mother who left her child in the car,[rather it was hot or not,]should be charged.I can not imagine “forgetting” your child was there, let alone for as long as she did. I’m a mother of two, and a granmother of two, and not once have I ever”forgotten” them. In fact I never have left them alone in a car!!
on Sep 7th, 2007 at 3:44 pm

I definetly think she should have been charged with negligence or perhaps seek another profession.

I think the new Hour 4 is refreshing. Koda is a new look, Am not quite used to Natalie’s new hair color. Giada is a natural fit to the hour
