I am looking at the Today Show and noticed the request to vote for the bridal gown I liked best. I do not have a cell phone and thought I could vote online. I guess not. I do love the sleeveless gown with the gorgeous applied flowers on the skirt.

If you should accept this vote, thanks.

I am watching the extended hour of Today. The 1st segment on embracing your age and doing it gracefully ,I thought would be more informative. I am 51 yrs. and have been dyeing my hair for 30 yrs and I was excited to think that I would finally learn how to let my hair go gray gracefully and not look like a skunk head letting it grow in! I think that there are lots of women out there in the same boat. Please do a segment on what it takes cosmetically to embrace the gray that I would love to have w/o shaving my head and starting over.Thank You

I love the today show. I think this fourth hour is a bit long. However I do like all three ladies hosting. Anne Curry is great. Each segment was too short to get any real information out of. The getting fit segment did not give you any true examples of how to start a program. Keep trying I am sure you will work out the kinks.

Still can’t find a way to vote on line for the wedding dress. It is now a challenge! Maybe this will count as a vote for #3? I see others have resorted to trying this method.
Still curious re: the supposed online vote opportunity “method”. Thanks anyway.

Natalie is ANNOYING - she speaks when others - hosts and guest alike are speaking! Show often sounds muddy with too many speakers if you are working and have the show on as background info.

The local NBC station in our town has substituted a local talk show in place of the third hour of the Today show. So now the Wedding segment is missed . I hope you can show the viewers choices during one of the other hours. The good news is we then get the fourth hour with the ladies back on after the local show. It’s crazy!

The young lady that was kicked off the plane, embarrases me. And for her mother to say that ,that skirt was not too short, is wrong. Her stuff had to be touching the airplane chair, how gross is that? How about the couch on your set? Would you want to sit on that chair after her, not me. They were right about approaching her. I’m 57 yrs old, and do not approve of this kind of dress, fad or no fad. If it were my daughter, I would not be with my lawyer on national T.V. What is the world coming too, when people approve of that behavior? Like the airline said, that was a family flight, children do not need to see that!!!! I actually turned your video of her talking off, quit watching.

Thank you for reading inserts from the book Dr. Saltz wrote. This book should be made mandatory for ALL children. ‘Secrets’ are the best attention getter I know of. Parents wonder why pre-teens and teens are sexually active and/or pregnant…if children are not taught by parents then curiosity and experimentation become the teacher. Our future seems to be ‘babies raising babies’. Health and safety of our children have become an embarassment. Better embarassed than sorry.

I just wanted to comment on the “sex” book. I thought it is about time.
The author is absolutely correct that we should call it like it is and maybe
if the intviewers mother read her the book when she was 10 she today
would not be so embarrassed by her parts. Next time when there is an
adult subject to be handled Ann should do the interview.

Changing You is a great book for parents to give healthy information about sex and sexuality. The illustrations make this book very nonthreatening. Why wasn’t the illustratora also a guest on the program today? You didn’t even mention the illustrators name.

Wanted to make a comment about the book which is for children regarding sex and genitalia. I would have liked to have had this book approx. 15 yrs ago when my daughter, after a rain day conversation with another Kindergarten student, came home with questions about sex. The conversation had included the description of oral sex and my daughter was unfamiliar with this concept. (We found out later the other child had observed a much older sister and her boyfriend in the act.) Needless to say it was a touchy conversation to have with a 5 and a half yr old girl who had been pretty sheltered. I incorporated our family beliefs about love and marriage and gave her as much information as I was able for her age. This experience made sex education a common discussion in our household because I did not want my children getting incorrect information. They have since come home with questions about getting pregnant if you kissed someone or held someones hand. This rain day conversation has been a blessing in disguise because they, 1 daughter-20 now and 2 boys-18 and 13, will ask questions if they hear information from their friends they think is incorrect. It has also made birth control methods a common discussion and they have sometimes given their friends correct information about STD’s and that you can get pregnant even if you stand up and jump up and down right after sex. You name it, we’ve talked about it. I have had an education as well. What our children are doing these days. Such as the colored bracelets they use to identify what they are willing to do with someone of the opposite sex and the ages they begin is much younger than when we were kids. Again, it would have been nice to have had that book when I was trying to explain what people do when they love each other those many yrs ago. Maybe I wouldn’t have stuttered quite so much or turned quite so red. Thanks to the author for having the courage to write it and I’m glad part of it was read on the show. It might give someone out there an idea of how to approach the issue with their child. It is never too early to start a lifetime sex education discussion. Thanks.

BRAVO! BRAVO! BRAVO! To Laura Ingraham’s book Power to the People. Her views, thoughts and opinions on the direction this country has taken on sex andTV pornography is RIGHT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She is expressing the REAL views of most Americans. Hollywood and much of the media is constantly telling us to ‘accept’ what they dish out to us when it comes to their liberal view of “sex, lust, porn, etc”. Middle America and the ‘normal’ citizen are struggling to keep their children on an emotionally and mentally HEALTHY, wholesome path. But, I agree with Ms. Ingraham ( as do MANY of my friends), that there is something going on in this country that is undermining the ‘everyday’ people’s efforts to keep this country from a productive, law abiding, clean, wholesome future. We’ve grown into a country that idolizes and values only money and sex. It’s pathetic.

It’s been awhile since I’ve been a faithful viewer. Today when I watched I was reminded why I stopped faithfully watching. Meredith does not mix. I find her to have a flat affect, lacking that attractive energy that is so important on a show like this one. In order to write this I observed her closely for what turns me away. She lacks being genuine and is not a natural for this position. I was reminded of why I stopped watching The View again today when she talked over the Secretary of State and had to be told to allow the question asked to be answered. Katie being gone is what hurts the ratings. Meridith being “in” is hurting the ratings! Please do something. I’ll check back at a later date to see if Meridith has been replaced.

Laura Ingraham has a struggle ahead of her. Being in my mid fifties and having come from an era where women had to go several extra miles to be recognized in the business world, I resent the half-naked, dumb blonde images, and photos etc… that scream “DO ME” plastered everywhere. We wonder why grade school and middle school children are having sex; why assault on children is increasing; why there are so many sex crimes! We broadcast SEX to a population that is not mature enough or healthy enough to put sex where it belongs. It’s been a long evolution from modesty to what we live in today. It is time to take the turn in an opposite direction for numerous reasons!

I watched the interview with Laura Graham, I totally agree with her about the news media devoting any time and attention on how intertainers are dressing and performing. We are confused and shocked at how teens are so involved in sex acts at such young ages, but the news is full of it!
Also I was angered at the way THE TODAY SHOW disrespected Laura as their guest by showing the clip of Ms. Spears while interviewing Laura Graham. Were you trying to make her look like a fenatic or something? Someone has to start putting the brakes on about all this pornographic behavior, and I am asking you at the TODAT SHOW to start. Thank you.

  32. #32 Carolyn
    on Sep 12th, 2007 at 3:16 pm

Yes! Laura Ingraham is right. I agree that the “News Media” is paying to much attention to the way intertainers dress and perform. It’s pornagraphic! We wonder why our children are getting involved in sex at such young ages, but even the comercials are lude. I was also Iritated at the way THE TODAY SHOW showed a clip of Ms. Spears while interviewing Laura Ingraham! Were you trying to make Laura look like a fenatic? I think it was extremly rude. I’ve also noticed an increasing tendancy for the reporters to be rude to all there guests. They ask a Question and then interupt before the guest is finished answering. They also all talk at once.

  33. #33 Brenda
    on Sep 12th, 2007 at 3:19 pm

Kudos to Laura Ingraham for standing up for what’s right and moral. She has a lot of guts for coming on the Today show and not being afraid to include NBC along with ABC,CBS and CNN among the media outlets who have chosen money over morality. The major networks are always in competition for ratings. Seems to me that if ALL refused to show the kind of smut that Ms. Ingraham and I and many other decent people disapprove of, the networks would still be on even ground. Leave the gossip, lude behavior and pornography where it belongs. In the gutter!! Give us back the wholesome, intelligent, informative morning show we deserve.

I saw Laura Ingraham on the show today, and I agree with her. I feel the standards of the today show, as well as hollywood, and madison avenue have fallen to an unacceptable low. I remember when I could watch tv without becomming embarassed for the people who are shoveling this swill down our throats. Thank you Laura Ingraham for bringing this to the forefront . Tsk Tsk to the today show for forgetting that the people still respond to common decency more positively than they do to smut. Sure sex sells, it sells our whole country down the tubes. If I want peace and joy in my day I have to turn off my tv

Regarding the Laura Ingraham interview and her bashing THE TODAY SHOW, I have the answer for her regarding the difference in television THEN and television NOW (i.e. The Britney Story).

THEN the media did not talk about a persons mental health or their addictions. This was not newsworthy or where we all in denial?
TODAY we recognize when a person is having a mental breakdown or has an addiction and THAT is news.

Is it correct to make someone’s personal troubles newsworthy? I think it puts people in perspective that we are ALL just that HUMAN no matter our walk of life.

And back THEN they also did not have shows like COLD CASE FILES, SNAPPED, COURT TV, etc.

    Peace to all! :)

I know you heard the story about the out of control St. George Mo. police officer. Who got taped threatening to make up charges and put 20 year Brett Darrow in jail. IS the thereat of false imprisonment a federal crime?.
Now it seems the S G P has lost the tape from the police car. The lost tape seems to be a mystery.
They lost the only thing that could help or hurt their case. I wonder which it was

  38. #38 Janice Gorby
    on Sep 12th, 2007 at 6:48 pm

I agree with Laura Ingraham today that the Today Show, the News, ABC, CBS are pursuring topics, such as Britney Spears recent debut, Paris Hilton, etc, are not newsworthy. I also have been watching the Today Show almost since its debut and always enjoyed it until the recent years. Except for the first hour it is all FLUFF. Are you telling me that there is no news out there except for the rich and famous? Forget about them, I want news that is worth watching. Forget the cooking segments, the weddings, etc. We want to know what is going on within our own U.S. You bearly hit on the young lady who was kidnapped and beaten in W.V. by 6 people. TODAY show you are about to lose another viewer.

to get the whole story about the abuse of twenty year old Brett Darrow by St. George Missouri police. Just go to any local TV station wed site . KSDK 5 KMOV 4 channel 11 fox local news must have friends in St. George they said that Brett had trouble with police before and insenuated he had conviced of something. Brett Darrow has no criminal record only a few traffic tickets

    Hi Today guys,

I have been watching you for at least 8 years. On the show today it was
stated that anyone who has an idea about discipline should write in. I feel that I have some expertise due to the fact that I opened 2 Child Development Centers to accommodate the Doctors, Nurses & support staff.
I also did parenting classes in the hospital, etc.

Meredith, I have MS & was diagnosed about 8 years ago. I plan on writing a book for parents to give ideas of how to teach their children without time-outs, yelling, shouting no, stop, don’t. I don’t believe that children should behave badly and not deal with the consequences. We need to teach responsibility.

I changed the curriculum in our school by having my staff start watching their classrooms to see what works. Having a room with 10 Toddlers & satisfying all of their needs without raising their voice is an art form.

We essentially changed the curriculum at our schools based on development levels It sounds very simplistic. Actually it IS very simple if you look at the age of your child & deal with them on a developmentally appropriate level.

When I first came to our school, there was discord among the children-screaming, fighting etc.. When I saw this I knew that something was very wrong about how the staff was working with the children.

One of the best ideas/tools for discipline comes when children are fighting.
Ex: A child comes to you at home or school crying their eyes out.The perpetrator of the crime gives several guttaral responses. He/she deserved it. He/she is not hurting. I would then look at the perpetrator & say that I am really sorry that this happened. You will need to take care of the child that you hurt until he/she stops crying. No time-out-no yelling.

I have several ideas that work wonders. I worked with children for over 30 years. I loved working with children & over the years I have become an expert in the Denver area. I am unable to continue working with children due to my MS. I feel that even if I am unable to work with children I could give parents some positive ways to work with their children.

How you word things makes all of the difference in the world when you are dealing with children. All it takes is trust & a feeling that someone cares-that does not mean that children are able to behave badly.

I would like to send in some ideas about my pamphlet/book that outlines ideas to use in everyday life. Maybe you know of someone that I could submit some of my ideas.

    Sincerely,
    Paula Egan

I can not agree more with Dan Abrams that a woman who killed her husband be a poster case for battered and abused woman.
We had a case in my area recently where doctor killed her husband because of abuse and no charges were filed.
I have mixed feelings about the justification, no the nullification some people extend to those who kill their spouse.
My position is not always a popular one but resorting to killing is never the answer and should not ever be sanctioned.
As far as returning custody to the mother. Lets just hope the judge makes his choice on the more cautious side.
The childrens life and all round mental health may depend on it.
Restablishing a relationship with the mother is a must…but with some supervision.

I was trying to watch the article on the Grand Canyon, but as with a lot of
the stories that have being on the show for the last couple of days it is
completely impossible to hear what the reporters are saying for the
music that is playing in the background. I am sure that I am not the only
one out their who would enjoy the show more , If I could hear what is being said. I read a comment from another viewer stating the fact that
it is almost impossible sometimes to hear the guest for what

I also agree with Laura Ingraham. We as parents are getting too slack on what we let slide on TV. We should be putting up more of a fuss about what is being allowed to be aired. Just like the morning you had the girl that got kicked off the airplane because of her outfit. You showed her outfit with her standing up & that was OK. But why did the camera have to stay on her while she sat down, having to blur her private area. That was very uncalled for. Your show used to have some class to it but ya’ll are getting down in the gutter just like the sleazy tabloid shows. Ya’ll are loosing the trust of many viewers because we just turn the channel. That is the only way we can fight back. Because TV is only going to get worse!!

  54. #54 Carol
    on Sep 14th, 2007 at 1:45 pm

When Katie was with your team she got on my nerves while doing an interview - she always interrupted the guest by talking over them with what she thought they were saying. Now I find Natalie doing the same. I wish she would ask the question and let the guest finish their thought - not Natalie. And I think it would be helpful for your show if you skipped some segments to give other ones more time. You rush some guest with their topics - maybe that is why Natalie is always stepping in for the guest with her comments.

I have always felt that Natalie speaks over the other hosts & guests. Haven’t watched the extra hour. no time. She is very annoying. Matt & Meredith are a great team. Always watched Today because pf Matt but couldn’t stand Katie. Thank you Katie for moving elswhere. So glad Meredith joined the Today Show. You have brought a new light to the show. Ann has always been a favorite - she is beautiful & has style and grace. Al Roker is also very annoying. He doesnt know when to stop carrying on when he makes one of his so called jokes. He is too loud and abrasive. Lester is a favorite He is handsome, classy & also has style & grace.

The show is great…Meredith is a perfect addition to the crew. The chemistry is delightful! I would love to know the brand of clothes that Ann Curry wears. Will you please reply?

Love the added fourth hour. Do NOT LOVE all three ladies talking at the same time and talking over the quests, (or laughing like magpies). Katie Couric did this all the time and I was happy to see her go.

On your segments about about older women such as the one today with jeans; you seem to think “40″ was the magic number. You seem to go from 40’s to 60’s, why not address women in their 50’s jeans; makeup, etc.

How about addressing more health issues for women say like heart attacks; which is the number one killer, not breast cancer. Do more reporting on understanding our ageing bodies.

Someone PLEASE help Meridth with her clothing. The colors she wears at 7 a.m. in the morning are not attractive. She always looks like she just rolled out of bed and put on the first thing she saw. I DO APPRECIATE the fact she doesn’t wear short skirts and seems fixated on her legs like Katie did. Just bring her up-to-date (do her colors and her hair). I don’t think that she and Matt are good together. Something just doesn’t click.

On Sept. 13 &14 Natalie did a health segment. Can I find out the name of the Dr. and the name of the book he was promoting. I tried to find it on the website but no luck. How do you look up prior show dates for info? Thanks for answering back.

What is it about James Blunt ? He’s so talented and yet I get the feeling that someone at the Today show has it in for the guy. Why was 1973 done in the studio ? and why did we only see the last minute of his second song ?

I think Meredith was a great addition to the show. Katie was way over due to move on. She interupted people constantly and always had to be the center of attention. I find that Ann Curry does so too. Although Ann does have a very compassionate side to her. I think Matt Lauer is great at all that he does and Al Roker cracks me up.
