This is a request for Ann Curry to review her interview with the African-American Psychologist (?)on the topic of : Is he nice or narcissistic? Ann interrupted the guest several times to make the points she was reading from a paper in her hand. The rush and the interruptions were annoying to me.

Was there a time crunch? If no one has the time to review the tape of this interview, then, please take my word for it and apologize to the guest for the unintended rudness and hurry.
    Peace,

Why do segments for which there is insufficient time? Whose job is it to time these things? It seems to happen more frequently with cooking (especially the Scottos) and style segments. Why can’t they allocate more time? It’s annoying to the viewer and rude to the guest when the interviewer cuts them off and says, “We’ve run out of time” (especially when the next segment is not as interesting as the one interrupted). It seems to happen more on “Today” than on other shows.

If you are interested in maintaining viewers, is there some reason you constantly repeat features from the previous day’s evening news with Brian Williams on the Today Show? The first hour of this morning’s Today Show was riddled with last night’s stories, so much so that I turned the channel to Good Morning America. And the feature on Larry Craig was featured on yesterday’s Today Show, last night’s evening news, Matt Lauer’s special feature last night, and then again on Today’s Show. I can’t understand what was so compelling about the subject matter that it required 4 segments and a repeat airing of the special. Either you don’t think much of your audience’s intelligence or you are too lazy to produce additional thoughtful features or interviews. If you continue this practice you will drive me away from your programming. Thanks for allowing me to post my comment.

Having seen much of the world in the Navy and hearing about the coming crisis in drinking water in the U.S., I am reminded of the many desalination plants around the world. Would it not be about time to start many of these along our coasts AHEAD OF THE CRISIS????

I would like Meredith to know after her interview this morning with the NBC physician that insurance companies will NOT pay for routine HPV testing in women under the age of 30. This is considered “experimental” in the Washington D.C. area. Because it is considered “experimental”, the labs are allowed to charge the patient their fee, NOT the amount contracted with the insurance plan. My patients have been charged anywhere from $280.00 to $339.00 just for the HPV test. This is outragious and needs to be publicized.

When the Dr. said you have breast cancer that is the last thing you hear or comprehend.Go Hoda just keep telling your story and talking to people. You will never know how much you help people. I could tell you things all day.Remember GOD loves you and there is a purpose for this.He will take us thru and make us stronger.

I am a 4 year breast cancer survivor. Watching the interview with Hoda this morning was like watching a tape of my own experience in so many ways, right down to the doctor’s phone call verifying her diagnosis. And,
I just love Ann Curry. Watching her with Hoda further exemplifies what a compassionate human being she is. Her interviews always value the feelings of the person she’s talking with, and this one was obviously straight from her heart.

I was inspireded again by Ann Curries segment with Hoda on breast cancer. I’m also a surviver of breast cancer and I thank my outcome to Katie Curric’s segment in January 2002 about starting out the new year with medical check ups. I set up my mamogram for January and it was disovered that I had breast cancer in it’s earliest stages. It would of been very aggressive if not discovered. So I thank you all so much at Today for having a part in my survival.

I have been watching the segment on the Today Show on Breast Cancer. Why don’t they ever talk about the “Cancer Survivors” that had their cancers come back.? No one mentions the devestation of having your breast cancer come back after 27 years and become terminal with bone cancer. Or brain cancer…. I am one of those people. A simple blood test given each year at your annual physical could have raised a red flag that something was wrong if it was elevated. My husband receives a PSA test every year even though he has had his prostate removed because of cancer. Can’t they do as much for women.?? Why doesn’t the medical profession talk about us women that have to live through it all over again. Only this time there is no happy ending. I’m sure there are thousands of us would like to know

Pam Johnson echoes my feelings about Ann Curry. I was moved watching Ann listen as Holda told of her experience with breast cancer. She was engaged, thoughtful in her resonses, and caring. We should all have an Ann Curry in our lives.

“Thanks!” to Hoda for telling her story and for Ann’s excellent assistance helping her get through the story. I am glad she did not “Hog” the story as it helps so much to hear each person’s journey. My journey with ovarian cancer began in August 2001 and my “Hero” was a local t.v. anchor who told her story on breast cancer, it’s return and her positive attitude made me know I would survive. Today, this lovely young woman is still an anchor at our local NBC station ( WTLV Jacksonville, Fl) and she has just gone through another ordeal. Still, she is positive and so honest in her feelings that you just know if you have to face the issue again in the future you can. Check her out - she is Donna Hicken and she has written a book and has a foundation to help breast cancer patients pay their bills while going through treatment. Thanks to Hoda, Donna and all other public women who share their stories. They REALLY, REALLY HELP US.

Although the media, celebrities, commercials, talk show hosts continue to flood the air waves. Unless you live under a rock or don’t care you should know what to do regarding this horrible disease. However the women have not been told about the dangers of ovarian cancer which is more insidious than breast cancer. I am a pretty informed woman, I get my pap smears, colonoscopys, mammo and do all I am supose to do to stay healthy. However because no one ever talks about ovarian cancer I was not aware of the symptoms. Had I been informed maybe my prognosis would be better. NOT skince GILDA Radner has there been anything regarding this.
I have tried to get Oprah, Roise and I continue to try to get this message out there to save anyone from this deadly disease. I am sure that you like the rest for what reason I do not know will not do anything eithere, but I am going to continue to try to get this out there. Please help our women. Thank You

I congratulate Hoda for allowing the public to see what she personally went through with breast cancer. I am scared to go have a mammogram done just because there are so many different forms of cancer that have plagued my family but for me personally because my right breast hurts about once a month for about a week usually during my menstrual cycle. Now I always do a breast check afterwards and never feel anything, but I am scared to do it just because and I convince myself that I am fine and I’m too young to have one. I am 36. Is there some worry here or all in my head?

DEAR HODA, I SAW YOUR STORY ON THURSDAY MORNING.YOU ARE 100% CORRECT. CANCER GIVES YOU COURAGE UNLIKE YOU HAVE EVER FELT IN YOUR LIFE BEFORE. I KNOW EXACTLY HOW YOU FEEL. I HAVE BEEN BATTELING COLON CANCER FOR ALMOST SIX YEARS. MY CANCER WAS ALREADY AT STAGE 4 WHEN IT WAS DISCOVERED. THEY TOLD ME I HAD ABOUT 2 YEARS. THE CANCER HAD SPREAD TO MY LIVER AND LUNGS. THE KNOCK OUT PUNCH. I WENT THROUGH THE SURGERY TO REMOVE THE TUMOR FROM MY COLON, RADIATION AND CHEMO BEFORE THAT SURGERY. AN OSTOMY FOR ABOUT 4 MONTHS. MORE SURGERY TO RECONNECT MY COLON. THEN A VIGOROUS ROUND OF CHEMO-THERAPY. THEN MORE CHEMO-THERAPY. AT ONE POINT I THOUGHT WE HAD IT LICKED. BUT NO. THE TUMORS IN BOTH MY LIVER AND LUNGS BEGAN TO GROW AGAIN. AT THIS POINT THE DOCTORS WERE SAYING 1-2 YEARS. AND I SAID NO WAY. I CANNOT BE DESTROYED. I TOOK CHARGE OF MY OWN TREATMENT.AND STARTED SEEKING OUT ALTERNATIVE TREATMENTS THAT HAVE BEEN PROOVEN TO BE EFFECTIVE. I STARTED JUICING, AND REBUILDING MY IMMUNE SYSTEM. I SHOULD MENTION THAT THE LAST ROUND OF CHEMO I DID IN JULY OF 07 PUT ME IN THE HOSPITAL FOR A WEEK AND ALMOST KILLED ME. IT WAS A VERY STRONG DOSE WHICH MY DOCTOR AND I THOUGHT I COULD HANDLE. THE FIRST DOSE MADE ME PRETTY SICK. THE SECOND ONE THREE WEEKS LATER WAS THE FINAL BLOW. AFTER THAT I DECIDED NO MORE CHEMO. I WENT ONLINE TO SEEK OUT ALTERNATIVE TREATMENTS AND CAME ACROSS BILL HENDERSON. THIS MAN HAS PRODUCED THE ABSOLUTE BEST RESOURCE FOR FIGHTING CANCER. WELL I’M BACK UP OFF THE CANVAS GIVING CANCER THE BUTTWHIPPING OF ITS LIFE. I IMPLORE YOU, HODA TO OBTAIN THIS BOOK, CANCER FREE,YOUR GUIDE TO GENTLE NON-TOXIC HEALING. THANKS TO BILL HENDERSON I AM NOW ARMED WITH THE GREATEST WEAPON EVER TO FIGHT CANCER.KNOWLEDGE. I HAVE ALSO GIVEN MY BODY ITS OWN WEAPON TO KILL CANCER. NUTRITION.SOMETHING THAT MOST SINGLE MEN HAVE OMITTED FROM THEIR DIET FOR A DECADE OR MORE. NOW I FEEL LIKE I AM BEATING CANCER. I FEEL GREAT. THE CANCER MAY STILL BE THERE BUT NOT FOR LONG. THE TODAY SHOW CONTACTED ME LAST YEAR DURING THE COLON CANCER AWARENESS WEEK. THANK GOD FOR KATIE. I WAS NOT HOME AT THE TIME. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT AGAIN THIS YEAR. I WOULD LOVE TO SHARE MY STORY, MY BATTLE, MY STRENGHT WITH ALL CANCER VICTIMS.

Could someone please explain to me how vaccinated children are put at risk by unvaccinated children? If vaccines are so good at preventing the diseases they are supposed to, why should parents of vaccinated children be concerned? Today’s piece on vaccination made ME wonder if I am actually exposing my children to unneccessary risk by getting vaccines…seems like the medical community is trying to scare people by citing a few isolated outbreaks while the other side raises the specter of life long disability from the vaccines themselves.

Personally, my family avoids vaccines made from stem cell lines derived from aborted fetal tissue…a facet of this debate I NEVER see on network TV…for more info you can read http://www.cogforlife.org/

I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer which was detected as microcalcifications on an annual mammogram. These calcifications are not something that could be palpated through manual self exams. It was necessary to have a left mastectomy, and I chose a right prophylactic mastectomy as well.
To the women who are afraid to get a mammogram, they need to realize that many, many women in the past died from breast cancer, and as a result, researchers developed mammography in order to detect the cancers earlier and prevent unecessary deaths. We owe it to those women who died to get our mammograms in order to save ourselves and assign a positive purpose to their deaths.

More talk about dogs!! I am not an animal hater, however i’m frankly sick of the fact that there are more dog shelters in this country than shelters for battered women. That we are more concerned about saving dogs from being put to sleep than saving the lives of aborted babies! What has our country come to when people care more about dogs and animals than children and humans. I would NEVER harm an animal in any way, I grew up with having animals, but our love and care and concern for dogs over people has gotten out of control!

I am appalled that the show did not mention one word on Friday, October 19, about the failure of the Congress to override the President’s veto on funding child healthcare. This is just one of many instances that are going to cause me to stop watching Today. I have been a loyal viewer for many years, but will find a show to watch that will responsibly cover issues that affect the American public.

    Hoda,
You have a great life ahead! I was 37, well before the suggested age for a mammogram. Now, 20 years later, I also am glad that I had a mastectomy. In your mind you know you have reduced the risk of it returning. Any day on this side of the grass is a gift!
I was adopted, so family history is out the window. I think those of us without any information of medical history, should be encouraged to have a baseline mammogram at a much younger age than 40.
I also took tamoxifen and think it was a good choice. Other than my gold crown turning black and gaining some pounds, it worked well for me.
    My best to you, Hoda.

Just wanted to let Hoda know that I too have been really sick for about 20 years. Had to quit my job. Limit my activities. My whole life had changed and not for the good. My diagnosis was Colanginous Colitis. The symtoms are for me exactley like Crohns. However, what I wanted to share with you is I am all better and feel 20 years younger. Like my old personality and drive are back.
The reason is Xango!!! I’ve been on it for a month and I feel like my old self. Xango is made from a super fruit called Mangosteen. It comes from southeast Asia. Xango has pureed the whole fruit to give you 17,000 antioxidents. In comparison to blueberries that contain 2400 antioxidents. It has changed my life. No more pain, my digestive system is normal, i have lots of energy. And I had also fractured my ring finger in a fall. Haven’t been able to wear it for 2 years. After 3 weeks of Xango the swelling of my finger was down and I could wear my beautiful wedding ring. All because of this super food Xango! Please feel free to call me at 623-848-8112. I live in Phoenix and I am a beleiver in God’s products!! Hoda this will help you in your recovery. It is 100% Guaranteed. If it doesn’t help you you can get your money back! Please Hoda I promise you will feel better.
    Most Sincerely Betsy J. Beard

Matt Lauer interviewed a gentleman (a preacher, maybe?) who has come up with and wears a “complaint bracelet.” The man call it this and wears it daily to remind himself not to complain about everything-there are good things all around that God gave us. He keeps trying to go 28 days without a complaint about something. He did say that he hasn’t gone the whole amount of days, yet. If he does complain, he starts his 28 (or 30 days) all over again. I think he switches the bracelet to the other wrist when he starts over. I missed most of the interview,I really only remember as much as I just stated. Some of that might be incorrect.
The upshot is that I would like one of those bracelets. No-more than I would like- I NEED- one of those bracelets. I’m partialy paralyzed and disabled and am trying to be more positive about my life. I think this might help to have a more tangible reminder. Was it ever mentioned if they can be purchased, made, etc.? Any help I would appreciate.

Please watch your own shows– and then tell me you like the way your camera men work or your directors. because I sure don’t. . I love the Today show– have been watching for years, but.. cannot believe you keep those banners up on the bottom of the screen during all interviews, cooking sessions and fasion shows, etc. We can’t see what is going on behind them. You talk about the shoes but we can’t see them; you describe the cooking process but we can’t see it. Please… we can tell that you are airing a cooking segment– you don’t have to tell us all the time.– we are reasonably intelligent human beings.

My friends won’t take the time to contact you about this, but we have discussed this and they are in total agreement. I am about ready to switch to good morning, America.

When Hoda and Kathie Lee are together they both talk at once and Kathie Lee thinks she is a comedien and interrupts everyone and thinks she knows everything. She will not let the person they are interviewing speak but tries to down play their knowledge of the topic and makes silly statements and is very annoying. Hoda is sweet and very professional at all times and I think she is even embarassed by Kathie Lees rude and obnoxious behavior. Get rid of her or inform her of the proper way to conduct herself on TV. When she comes on I turn it OFF!!!!!!!! Do not give out my email address please.

Ref: ‘Free’ Samples through the internet

Please advise people, when you post websites for anything FREE, that they will likely start receiving many, many unwanted e-mails. Contrary to the statement that ‘companies offer samples to get their products out to people and create sales by word of mouth.’ It was my experience with http://www.startsamples.com that all they really wanted was my e-mail address. Now, even though I didn’t complete the survey, I am receiving between 20 and 30 unwanted e-mails per day. Perhaps you could have a segment teaching us how to get OFF these lists!!

I watch the early Today show with Matt, Merridith, Ann and Al they appear very professional while interviewing guest. I like to try and catch the Hoda and Kathie Lee later. I have become so frustrated with Hoda and Kathie Lee, they are like getty teens, constantly interrupting the guest and talking amongst themselves. Today I finally turned the channel after trying to listen to a guest showing how to go from summer fashion to fall. They interrupted so much I could hardly catch any of the information the guest was trying to give.
    Thank you
