October lst Ann Curry has Jenna Bush on. I thougt it would never end. It was entirely too long for the Today Show. It would be better on 20/20 or some show like it

I had a big kick out of wives making more money than their husbands. I am a registered nurse and have always made more money than my active duty military warrent officer husband (now retired). He’s always been VERY proud of the fact that his wife could support him and our family. It isn’t egos-it’s extras we could afford. Like my sending Him flowers at work, or the extras for kids. We save for our days of retirement. That is our goal together. Both contribute with full time jobs now, and I still make more. Ask him if he cares? Our joke is I was always the one to get a second job. He’d work for wage and I’d make money. I budget! Works for us.

Meredith, I like you and think you’re nice, but God do you realized how sexist and socialized your comments were this morning during the eight o’clock segment on Brittany? First you said that the hardest thing for a woman to do is (I paraphrase) give up her child. Not all wmoen/mothers necessarily love their child. Some have children because it is expected. How about men who have to give up a child. I have seen a number who cared more about their children than the mother. Second sexist comment you made was that if a woman loses her child she looses her identity as a woman - BULL! There are women out there who are quite secure with themselves without having to have a child for whatever reason. Just because you are a mother, and I’m sure a very good one, you shouldn’t speak for all women and you certainly demean men when it comes to issues of children. At this point Kevin Fedderline actually, this is hard to say, looks like the best parent across the board.

I have watched the Today show for years. Not all of it because of time restraints.
I really enjoy Mr. Laur and his way with journalism, but two things. He and Ms Veara do not mess and the biggy Matt interrupts guests all the time. I was taught that interrupting is really rude and it means that you are not a good listener. Matt, STOP interrupting. Manners are very important.

    Today Show
I find it very ironic that when discussing the eating disorders of young women, all the women on the show are very thin. How can they possibly convey the message that being thin is not to be an obsessive goal, when we constantly hear Ann talking about her “diet” or the other commentators worrying about the calories in the tiny tastes that they take of guest chefs offerings? A bit of a mixed message.

Sad to see a season journalist afraid of a calm, sweet dog, handled by none other than Ceaser Milan. I hope that this does not promote the unjustified fear people have toward pitbulls.

I get home from work in the morning just as my roommate is leaving for work…he leaves the tube on the Today show, so it’s the first thing I see when I hit the door.

So this morning, I walk in to be greeted by the scary sight and cringe inducing sound of that bloviating attention hag, Ann Coulter!!!

    OH THE HUMANITY!!!!!!

If this was just an early Halloween stunt, I guess I could live with it…but this is at least the third time this year it’s happened…not to mention the other members of the rightwing political freakshow like Bill O’Reilly, Tom Delay, Bill Kristol, etc etc that they can’t seem to give enough airtime to…

Got to get the roomie to switch it to the Weather Channel, turn it off, or at least leave the remote by the door on the way out…

I have little or no use for this trainwreck anymore…bummer…

My Great Aunt Iva is 100 years old today, October 3, 2007.
She is an incredible woman and has been a life force for me since birth. She has lived in central Ohio since her teen years and has been a widow 40 yrs. She is sharp as a tack and remembers birth dates and other facts better than the rest of us. She taught me how to play Gin rummy and Canasta as a youth. I have always enjoyed her presence and support. I celebrate her each day and will enjoy lunch with her today.

Good Morning or Good Day…First and foremost the Today Show sets the standards for the most excellent program EVER….I thank you for the care and concern your producers and staff have for their fellow citizens.
Furthermore, I too would like to help my fellow citizens. I am a stay at home mom of a three year old and one year old respectively. I have started a home-based business that will allow me to continue to be a stay at home mom and thought I would pass on this opportunity. It is the best most excitiing opportunity for anyone for that matter. It is amazing you make money having fun and helping people. It is called YTB International, I have a Travel Store…just like Expedia or Orbitz but w/competitive prices. However, YTB pays the people to spread the word. Expedia and Orbitz spend 5 million a week in advertising…YTB (Your Travel Business) pays you…Please refer to my website at http://www.ytb.com/madwoman to book travel and see how you too can make money, save thousands on travel, and taxes alone.
    With kind regards,

I missed a segment of your show about how fighting with you partner may cause a heart attack. I recently broke up with my fiancee, and had found out that I had suffered a mild heart attack. I look back on when it could have happened and I did have chest pains and had some signs but I related it to stress with our arguments. If you could forward any information to me about this segment of your program I would greatly appreciate it. Normally I try to catch your show in the morning and I think you are all great.

Everyday we are told we can find the featured recipe on Todayshow.com, but I have searched the entire site and find NO recipes. When I click on the recipe link it simply tells me somebody should take notes and post on the blog. That seems like false promises - expecting your audiance to fullfil your announced information sharing doesnt really seem right to me.

    Gumbo Recipe courtesy Paula Deen
    Show: Paula’s Home Cooking
    Episode: Comfort Food

    Paula’s Gumbo

3 large boneless skinless chicken breast halves
    Salt and pepper
    1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 pound smoked sausage, cut into 1/4-inch slices
    1/2 cup all-purpose flour
    5 tablespoons margarine
    1 large onion, chopped
    8 cloves garlic minced
1 green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
    3 stalks celery chopped
    1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/4 bunch flat leaf parsley, stems and leaves, coarsely chopped, plus chopped leaves for garnish
    4 cups hot water
    5 beef bouillon cubes
1 (14-ounce can) stewed tomatoes with juice
    2 cups frozen sliced okra
4 green onions, sliced, white and green parts
1/2 pound small shrimp, peeled, deveined and cooked

Season the chicken with salt and pepper. Heat the oil in a heavy bottomed Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken until browned on both sides and remove. Add the sausage and cook until browned, then remove. Sprinkle the flour over the oil, add 2 tablespoons of margarine and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until brown, about 10 minutes. Let the roux cool.
Return the Dutch oven to low heat and melt the remaining 3 tablespoons margarine. Add the onion, garlic, green pepper and celery and cook for 10 minutes. Add Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper, to taste and the 1/4 bunch parsley. Cook, while stirring frequently, for 10 minutes. Add 4 cups hot water and bouillon cubes, whisking constantly. Add the chicken and sausage. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat, cover, and simmer for 45 minutes. Add tomatoes and okra. Cover and simmer for 1 hour. Just before serving add the green onions, shrimp and chopped parsley.

On the Sputnik anniversary and TODAY, I’m told a local gentleman here in Canton, OH was a guest on the show the day of the announcement, 10/4/57 or so. His name is Darrell Romick, has recieved various honors as an early pioneer in rocketry, and though quite elderly and frail remembers much from those days. Does anyone know if there is an archived guest list to learn who interviewed him, maybe a transcript, or even how to find possible footage from 1957? Just sort of curious to make the connections. Thanks…

I thought the Today show was to be a news program but as the years have gone on it has become a circus with little news and too much stupid womans fashion. Who cares! I watched your show this morning with your wedding. How foolish are you people. The fact that 51% of a chance that these people will be divorced. Get back to being a news pogram and report important things that are important to the American people.

  36. #36 Cindybin
    on Oct 5th, 2007 at 3:20 pm

I caught a glimpse of something about Jessica and Cody’s wedding. I did not know anything about this before. But I see she was wearing a strapless gown. It bothers me that so many brides follow this trend. To me, it is immodest. Also, I saw something about how this couple was toasted at Tiffany’s. So I suppose this means with alcohol? It figures. EVERYBODY has to drink booze. It just drives me nuts! I bet these same people would never smoke pot, because drugs are bad. Yet they will consume a mind-altering drug in the form of alcohol. It just makes me sick. NOBODY should drink alcohol. I am writing a blog about his whole strapless wedding gown tend, and about how terrible it is that people drink alcohol, especially at wedding receptions. I plan to post it soon on my website, so check back soon. I also think it is terrible that NBC has a Food and Wine section. I can’t believe this site promotes and glorifies alcohol!!! Alcohol is a TOXIN. It has been linked to cancer and birth defects and more. Just the fact that it is a psychoactive drug makes it wrong! We can hardly chastise our youth for underage drinking, when grown adults make alcohol look so fun, glamorous, romantic, sophisticated and fun. Grown adults should know better. Yet all these wedding couples get married in a solemn church ceremony in front of God, and then head right to a reception where they consume a mind-altering drug. They think THAT is what celebrating means. And I gather this wedding was organized by Martha Stewart–well she is yet another one who promotes and glorifies alcohol. I have a blog entry about her from a few days ago. Also, I caught an interview with newscaster Maria Celeste (from Telemundo) who talked about a children’s book she wrote. I have seen her on Telemundo, reporting serious news while dressed in very revealing clothes, showing all this cleavage! This sets women back 100 years! Yet in this interview on NBC today, she was talking about her 3 kids and children’s books and good family values. Yet I have always been stunned when I’ve seen her reporting the news! I just can’t believe this! How could a mother dress that way?? I don’t understand the world. She was dressed modestly on the Today show (except for her heels being too high) but on Telemundo I have been stunned! How can she dress like that and be a mother and so concerned with good values and write children’s books? I just don’t get it.

It would be interesting to me to see a segment analyzing the Canadian health care system, what kind of taxes the Canadians pay for this and what kind of premiums they pay, if any, being that this is a major platform for some of the candidates. The word is that they still pay premuims, do not receive good health care, have limits to the number of services they can receive and that the doctors are required to limit the amount of time they spend with each patient. What is the quality of their health care?

I can not believe that you show the location of a Nuclear War head site. Just what we as America needed to do. Show the Turban Twisters/Russia and other foriegn countries where our protection is. Now lets see how long before there is an attack on Montana. I realize it is the News Media place to report news, but come on. America is trying to dictate to Korea and other foreign countries, that they can not have nuclear, and what does the news crew do. Show the world that we have it and where it is. Is the media so hungry for news that they want another 9/11. They must if they are showing everyone the exact location and how things are doen everyday. I can not believe that yaw realeased all that info. I use to haul that stuff for the Government, and I was sworn to secrecy. So now that you have showed all that I guess it does not matter that I tell people what I know now.

Watching the Today show this morning, I couldn’t help but notice the women talking about the VP debate last nite. Come on at least put someone on with a small degree of intelligence. One of the women ,who were obvious O’bama supporters stated that Paiden frightened her with the fact she could be President. Give me a break. She is honest, experienced way beyond O’bama and Biden who has done nothing ever, except sit in congress and the senate. No experience at all on any kind of practial matters.
I am an independent voter who has researched the candidates very carefully and I believe the republican ticket is the safest and best vote. I am flabbergasted that you all have not said any negative things about O’bama at all. He has proven he can’t make prompt decisions by the fact that in his short time in the senate he has voted present over one hundred times. Please tell the facts about all the candidates and just a chosen few.
