You were talking about sandwiches. Zuppa Soup @Bakery in Richmond, Va makes a great grill cheese sandwich. It will remind you of a bruschetta.

I really appreciate David Gregory’s contributions when he fills in for Matt. I also saw Meet the Press yesterday, and feel he did a remarkable job at that in Tim Russert’s absence. This morning. at one point, he made reference to “p r o s t r a t e” cancer, I believe in reference to the death of Merv Griffin. PLEASE! The word is prostate (no second r). It is a common error, and I was surprised to hear it from David. Keep up the good work, David. Phyllis Lee

I want to know if the Today Show is hard up for news or what??!!!!
The segment you did this morning with the man who is suing the florist for the mix-up with cards (which I think was much deserved) and his lawyer was atrocious. He should have been very embarrassed to even have a girlfriend much less go on nationwide television and discuss it!
We are in the middle of a war. Men and women are dying daily in this war which I think is much more news worthy than a common adulterer.
I sm shocked that such trivia would even catch your attention.
I have always defended the Today Show and everyone involved but I must tell you this is a BIG disappointment.

    Sincerely,
    Cathy Bell

    Hi Judi,
Any day is great to be at the plaza. You just never know who might show up. There are also sometimes celebreties among the crowd.
    See you there! :) Welcome!

I was really disappointed and annoyed with your birth plan story aired this morning. It really seemed to be one sided and defeating. There was barely any background/info given on why women are choosing to creat such things, just that they want to “micro manage.” That’s really poor. Most women who make a birth plan realize they need to have some flexibility but feel the need to set certain expectations because labor in general has turned into a drug fest. In comparison to other places in the world (i.e. Europe) the U.S. has a significantly higher epidural rate and cesarian rate. Pitocin use has also trippled in the last twenty years. It’s getting ridiculous. Our culture teaches women to fear birth and the “tremendous pain” associated with it. Other cultures don’t regard labor in such a manner and their women deliver naturally, by choice, and complication free regularly. Why is that? Doctor’s rush to cesarian delivers far to often in the U.S because they fear lawsuits. It’s better to get the baby out under their control than risk a potential complication later. While on the surface that sounds like the right thing to do, when you dig deeper you begin to realize that often times the surgeries aren’t necessary. There was a study done recently that compared the Apgar scores of babies who had cesarians after the doctor determined the baby was in distress to babies who delivered vaginally. The results showed that the babies were healthy and showed no signs of distress. Also, pitocin use to augment labor is also far too common. Labor takes time and unless there are obvious complications, a women’s body should be given what it needs during labor - time and control. I can’t tell you how many people I know that have been told things like “let’s see if we can move things along with some pitocin” after only a few hours. They get the drug, which is then followed by an epidural becaues it causes so much more pain, and then they often need more pitocin because the epidural slowed the labor, and the wheel continues to spin. Women are vulnerable, nervous, and emotional during labor. Unless they’ve educated themselves and taken a proactive role in their care ahead of time, they are left to be dictated by their doctors. It should be joint decision making, open communication, and an environment of options, not a dictatorship. Creating a birth plan allows the mother to be an advocate for herself and sets a stage of expectations and/or preferences. I think most would agree that everyone involved with the birth wants the best for mothers and babies, but that does not mean that one must succumb to drugs and surgeries when it’s not a true medical necessity. A women’s body was designed to birth. It most often has everything one needs to accomplish this taks and we should be more inclined to allow the natural experience to be just that - natural. A birth plan coupled with the appropriate support (i.e. husband coaches, doulas) often allows women to be more successful in accomplishing this goal.

You’re going a 4th hour in September?? Why? The third hour is a waste of time now with all the subs in for the major hosts. I just hate to see how you rush into segments and cut the individual presentations off before they are finished. I am also happy for Campbell Brown, but NBC lost a fine journalist who should have replaced Katie. Good Morning America is looking better and better each day!

    A fan who is disappointed!.

Doug Steenland is the worst ceo I have worked for . I am a captain for nwa and I feel that as an employee I am also the lowest common denominator . Therefore most of the employee’s feel betrayed for the lack of consideration , and because he took 26.6 million as a bonus for defeating us. Please ask Doug how many body guards he now has to protect himself from his employees, at last count he had only four body guards. Nwa needs leadership but the employees do not feel he can do fill those shoes. He has his money and who cares about the employees. If the today show has any true gritt you will ask pointed employee related questions. I really feel you will not ask questions because you can”t stand the truth.

I have a oouple of comments regarding the Martha Stewart wedding segment. The couples certainly deserve to have been selected to be married on the Today show. However, each of them (the future brides and grooms) are beautiful, handsome, thin and could be models in any sort of publication. Don’t people who are plain, overweight, etc. deserve to be married on the Today show as well? Also, I cannot vote since I do not have a cell phone with text messaging. How about being fair to all your viewers. I still love the Today show and will continue watching whenever I can.

Love the today show, still miss Katie every morning.
as for the toy’s being recalled or to be thrown out, I think if everyone bag
or box them up and take them back to the store’s not for the money, but
to let them know they also have a responsability to thier customers.
Just leave them there so they pile up and they get the message.
I’ve seen a lot of things STILL in stores that are being sold that have been recalled or told to discard. Cat food, toothpaste, dog goodies.etc.etc.etc.
and thats been a while.on most things prices have been cut in half.
I think it all come’s back to the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Northwest Airlines needs a complete over-haul. They have cancelled flights in August. We started out in KC to Anchorage. NWA had problems, and we were advised to fly into Chicago on United to meet our connecting flight. Our United Flight was held on the runway in KC over an hour and then we missed our connecting flight to Alaska. This all happened on Sunday August 5th. When we finally arrived in Chicago we found the flight had left for Alaska. They could not get us on a flight to Alaska until Tuesday, Aug. 7th. We lost $4,000.00 on a booked fishing trip on the Kenai River plus the airfare we paid NWA. We had trip insurance, what a laugh they say the airline should be responsible. The airline says you had part of your trip; “What do you mean you expect a refund?” No we had no trip, our trip was to Alaska but because NWA could not keep their commitment to depart KC that morning THEIR AGENT said I’ll put you on a United Flight, you can connect in Chicago and get to Anchorage. Airlines are a rip off, they have the upper hand and to bad for the hard working man.

NOW, THERE IS SO MANY DANGERS FROM FOREIGN PRODUCTS. “WE” HAVE NO ONE TO BLAME BUT OURSELVES. THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE WHO DEPENDED ON FACTORY JOBS , IN SMALL TOWN, THAT WENT AWAY BECAUSE OF NAFTA.

I usually watch Good Morning America, but I have recently been viewing your show as well. This morning I watched your segment on “Tomboys”. I would just like to say that the interviewer spent a disproportionately long period of time speaking to one of the guests, instead of the other. This fact not only bothered me because the neglected guest was a doctor, but because she was black and the other guest, as well as the interviewer, were both white. The other guest also had no noteworthy credentials, aside from the fact that she just decided to create some organization. I hope that your other hosts are able to conduct their interviews in a more professional and less biased manner.

i would like answers on tomorrows show(8-18-07), on what kind of investing can an ordinary woman who works in a factory, can do. you always show very professional women and talk about what they should be doing investment wise, but it alot harder for an ordinary woman working in a factory to plan for her retirement, as it usually takes all of her paycheck as well as her spouses to meet monthly expenses, and what about the single female factory worker? please ahve your financial advisor on tomorrows show answer.

What’s up with your web site? It’s a mess to try and get into. Is this on purpose? You should be able to pay someone to set up a good web site for you. I wanted to vote for the wedding couple #4 but was unable to do so. I’m begining to think this is all a set up. How was it last year that a well known hollywood person’s son was picked as the winning couple? These people should have been able to pay for their own wedding instead of a hand out from NBC. PS, I don’t own a cell phone to use to vote.

I have been watching the Today Show for MANY years but am getting closer to going elsewhere.
I am a 62year old female that has to fight her husband every day to watch the show. Ihave to say that I don’t enjoy Merideth even 10% as much as I liked Katie. There was such a good feeling when she was there, everyone had such fun and it just clicked.
Thank-you for having the segment on Elvis,as I too am one who still misses him and can’t get enough of his “everthing”.
There are other things I would like to discuss:
Not finding the recipies from the show as in the past, especially Richard Simmons,
Really enjoyed seeing the Osmonds again it’s been far too long,
Would like to vote for couple #4 but also can’t find the link and can’t afford to text message.
You have many segments on fashion but I think you forget that there are millions of people out here that are not up to your “standards”. We live on $1000.00 a month (yes 1 thousand) and watching you push fashions or any other items for hundreds of dollars is very hard to watch. You obviously don’t consider that. We may be living at what so many people consider the “poverty” level BUT we are not poor or dirty. Maybe one day you’ll send someone out to try and see how so many of us “live” happily. Vacationing for $50.00 or less is something we do ALL the time, try it some time you might just like it.
I really enjoy watching Matt, Al, Ann and waiting to see Lenny and Einstein in the crowd.
Have never done this before, thanks for giving me a chance!

Why on earth is it so difficult to vote for one of your wedding couples??? Where is the site?? Frankly, they are all adorable and based on one program, how do you choose?
When you advise your viewers to go on line and vote, follow through and give us a chance to vote! Bye the way, I like Meredith, but miss Katie. Really.

Why on earth have they not updated anything in days? The today show has the absolute worst website and customer service that I have ever seen. Bye!!!!!!!!

Was unable to vote for the wedding couple of my choice. Website required opening a video by downloading adobe. Why make it so difficult? I seem to remember previous years just clicking on a photo or box.

I watched your segment this morning on weddings. I couldn’t believe that the show was sending the three couples who didn’t win on a vacation for five days. I am not a prude but I think the show is sending the wrong message to our young people. The purpose of a “white” wedding is purity. Why have a wedding at all if you are encouraging vacationing together. It seems like a joke! I’m very disappointed! I’m sure Al, Ann, or Matt wouldn’t be encouraging that vacation for their own daughters! But I guess you’re all about ratings. The show is losing its “Class”.

How dare you give “Dr.” laura airtime. She is not a Dr. of psychogy and has no credibiblty. She is only out to make money and sell books. Yes, she was whining. Yes, she was wrong. And, yes, she does blame the victims. How dare she get away with that; and shame on you for allowing her airtime!
