Strong opinion: Whenever Ann Curry sits in for Meredith I turn off the Today Show. PLEASE keep Ann at the news desk or movee her to her own show. She is so obviously trying to outshine Meredith. I feel tension that is like squeaky chalk on a chalboard. I like Ann on Dateline, but in my opinion she has her eye on the main Today show spot. Meredith brought me to the Today show from GMA. Ann and Meredith are not like Diane Sawyer and Robin. Robin does not try to outshine Diane. Meredith is very gracious, but I feel she will be “done in” by ambitious, coy Ann. Please reply.

Ann is great. She has always shared her thoughts, opinions, and hugs with everyone. She has a totally different style from the other newswomen, which unfortunately, is not accepted in the “hard news” world. Meredith is a wonderful addition to TODAY, and I am very glad to see her handle each segment with what ever is required to tell the story appropriately, with humor, dignity, decorum, whatever is required.

Ann I think you do a great job but you weren’t hard enough on that David Hasselhoff. He is a jerk and you were far too nice to him. He needs to address his problems and not skirt the issue which he did today. You can be sure I won’t be watching America’s Got Talent!!

I am with L. Serrano. When Ann comes on, I turn off. She can read the news, but when she does interviews, I just cringe. She stumbles over lines and acts sooo dramatic. She has to keep looking at her notes and still screws up words. Every time she says “you say……” I keep thinking can’t you possibly thing of some other way to word this? I wish they would let Natalie do more interviews. She is much more natural at interviewing.
