For anyone interested in tuning in, the Today Show on NBC is scheduled to have a feature on Spring Training tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. The feature is all about the rite of passage that Spring Training has become for families across America and they are using Dodgertown as the setting to tell the story.

Here’s what we’re looking at for Weekend Today:

President Bush Is Traveling In Latin America:
The President will be a busy man this weekend traveling throughout Latin America. He will make stops in Brazil, Uruguay, Columbia, Guatemala and Mexico. Kelly O’Donnell is traveling with the President and will bring you details of the trip on Saturday.

    Shot Through The Heart:
And I’m not speaking figuratively. A Missouri teen was accidentally shot in the chest with a nail gun this week while working on a barn with a colleague. Matt Robinson will be on the show Saturday. Tune in to see what it was that saved this young man’s life.

    Hagel Joins The Race??
This week the word was out. Sen. Chuck Hagel is expected to make a major announcement on Monday in his home state of Nebraska. Will he throw his hat in the ring? We’ll have Tim Russert on Sunday to tell us where this might put the race for the White House in ‘08.

Other Stories To Catch This Weekend
    Saturday: Ladies Night In!
    Sunday: How Green Are You?

I have been watching the weekend Today Show both Saturday and Sunday for a very long, and I’ve never been so disappointed in content and comments made on the show than I am on this morning’s (3/10) show. I am not a big fan of Rosie O’Donnell but I thought the comments made regarding her demonstration of an alternative treatment for depression were demeaning and insulting to the millions of people who suffer with depression. It would appear that perhaps NBC looks for cheap laughs and wants to “cash-in” in the controversy around O’Donnell instead of presenting this alternative method for relief of depressive symptoms. Yes, she may have looked foolish hanging upside down; but bravo for her courage and willingness to look the fool to help someone who is looking for something to enhance his or her existing treatment therapy. Your Zietgeist commentators were offensive; and in one instance almost crude.
I’m sure this could have been presented in a different manner, and the Today Show could have shown itself as being the program that brings the “human face” to the ways in which people struggle with adversity. And I’m not referring to Paul McCartney’s “struggle with his estranged wife!”

I was watching this a.m. as I always do - love Campbell and Lester - but Lester on assignment and that’s okay!

HOWEVER! How could anyone possibly do cheesecake reviews without S&S - THE premier cheesecake in New York City - if you have ever even visited NY you know S&S - they deserve an apology and you need to call them and have them send over some cheesecake to you for trying - bet they will!
