Since 911, I rarely watch the news in the morning. I mostely watch the Today Show, and after this morning episode, I am totally discusted. Can’t you guys learn that whenever you get the BIGGEST RACIST and RADICAL
on your show that there will be even bigger problems. I don’t have a problem with the Reverend being on, but JESSIE JACKSON!!!!!!!!!! Please guys, stop making me choke on my morning coffee. For over 20 years I have served in the military and was serving with some of the best soldiers over in Iraq. Some of them are black, and even those guys think Jessie Jackson is a radical. So please, no more Jessie Jackson with this subject.
Don Imus made a mistake and appologized and is paying for it. Now let’s drop the subject and get on to better news stories than this. For your information, I am a 49 year-old white female living here in Michgian. One of my mentors while serving in the Navy was the only black female officer onboard the ship we served together on, and when ever I needed anything, she was there when I needed someone to talk to.

You have got to be kidding, you idiots at NBC have helped a special interest group control media again. You let 2 race pimps like Reverend Al and Jackson control what can be shown and listened to. You don’t get it, the only way these 2 people stay in business is to keep us oppressed. Or at least they think they are. We need to rise above this stuff like Imus has said, make our own way and do not let these 2 Reverend idiots think they are helping us. Whos next?… you, say something wrong the 2 race pimps will turn it around on you and now you will be racist.

I beleive we are beginning to see a change in our scoiety, a shift in culture and the beginning of the end of an old era, with the firing of Imus. Times are Changing and people(inculding myself)want this type of entertainment to be left off the public air time. He’s an old horse that needs to accept that what may be ok in the coral, when he leaves the farm, the majority feels this is more then offensive. His firing is telling people, the majority of the public demand change and we want borders on public air waves.
I am aware that Imus has a following. But Imus and the world we live in no longer warrents, this type of public insulence. It will be sad to see such an American Icon go out in this fashion, But it needs to begin some where and Imus so to speak will be the sacrifice that demands change in what goes over the air ways.
The Janet Jackson inccident with Justin Timberlake, should have shown that we need to be responsable for what we send out in enviornment. Imus open his crude mouth and insulted someone and twenty years ago it would have been laugh at with the majority of the population. But there is no room in society for the this type of Bad Manners in 2007.
It is sad that we have to see such an American Icon go out in this fashion and though I do not agree with some of his morals, and ethics over the years, he is the end of a generation. It won’t be that easy to change, it will take years and in time all of this will blow over.
We no longer have separate races, and it won’t be long before a single race will laugh at the unbeleivable crude comment from this American, who took free speach a little too far.

I am sure history will not be kind to Imus so we must remember, he has done good work in some very good charities. I have always wondered how far is too far! And what and who makes the call.

Can we do somthing about whiners??? Can we have a spokesman for the anti-whiner movement?? People say things that are taken offensively by someone every day… we can say WHAT we WANT WHEN we WANT TO because we are americans, for those of you who want a repressed society, wake up! and smell the bill of rights. Because there are many more of us who like our freedom of speech. I don’t agree with Imus said, but he has a right to say anything he wants to. Quit your crying and worry about what falls out of your own pie hole, and I’ll worry about miine. Accountability is not an issue for Imus, he has apologized…
