Meredith, i watched your commentary on the toy issues this A.M.
My question is this: Where is the basic common sense among parents concerning the safety of the toys they buy for their children. I realize they have no control over the lead paint issue, but there are many, many toys out there that are unsafe by virtue of the toy’s specific designs and size. Everyone knows children put everything in to their mouths. Wouldn’t it make sense for parents to “think before they buy” abiout the safety issues of a particular toy by at least simply looking at the toy, consider the age of their child and perhaps come up with the idea that, “Gee, this isn’t safe for my child at his/her age. It seems to me that basic common sense should be applied by the consumer before buying.

This morning on your show you showed a young lady who was asked to leave the airplane she had boarded becouse of the way she was dressed.
When she was asked to stand up and show her outfit and than sat down. You could see her underpants , although very pretty lady her outfit was a weebit short. I don’t think if you want to show your body to the world that you also should be able to take comments about your dress.
Sorry but I think the Air line was correct in what thay did. Again I think the Young lady was very pretty but if I want to see a young ladys thighs its wouldn’t be on public transportation.
In regards to the young lady and her outfit on the airplane. It was very inappropriate for airline travel. You could see her underwear when she sat down. It was quite apparent that someone on the flight was not comfortable with the outfit and had complained to the airline about it. It may very well have been an outfit appropriate for young college girls her age to wear at school or their social events, as the comment was made by her mother, but not on an airline.
Also, why jump the gun and get a lawyer if all you want is an apology?
I would like to comment on the segment about the woman who left her baby in the car all day. What???????????? How could any person do this? And she works in the school system. And now they are not going to give her any jail time or punishment for her actions. Granted she probably feels bad about the whole thing and will never forget it.
There was an article in our paper today from Batavia Ohio about another woman, who had been warned twice, leaving her child in the car to die. They didn’t charge her either. Something should be done about this.
